Founding Board Members
We are currently looking for 2 founding board members to help build Neighbors Light from the ground up in Norman, Oklahoma.
A small, referral-based transitional housing program in development.
Neighbors Light is a small, referral-based transitional housing program in development. It is designed for adults who are ready to move forward but need structure and stability to do it.
This is not a large shelter or a drop-in program. It is intentionally small, structured, and focused on helping people move from instability into routine, income, and independent housing.
The program is built around two tracks:
Medical respite
For individuals discharged from hospitals who need time to recover.
Workforce transition
For individuals ready to return to work but lacking stability.
Filling the gap between emergency shelter and independent housing.
Many systems stop at emergency shelter or jump straight to independent housing. There is little in between for people who are ready to take the next step but cannot do it without structure.
Neighbors Light is designed to fill that gap with structure and accountability: a set length of stay, a daily routine, case management, and a clear plan toward income, savings, and independent housing.
