Board Development Roadmap

Neighbors Light is building a founding board to guide our launch and early growth. Here's how we're approaching board development.

Phase 1: Founding Board Formation (2026)

We are currently recruiting founding board members who will help set up governance, finalize program design, and guide the launch of Neighbors Light. This is a working board focused on meaningful impact during our first year.

Board Composition

  • Nonprofit Operations: Experience in nonprofit governance, finance, or administration
  • Healthcare: Hospital, clinic, or health system leadership
  • Workforce Development: Employment, training, or economic development experience
  • Legal/Finance: Legal counsel or financial expertise
  • Lived Experience: People with personal experience with homelessness or housing instability

Board Responsibilities

Board members will be expected to:

  • Attend monthly board meetings (in-person or virtual)
  • Participate in startup collaboration and strategic planning
  • Help shape governance, policies, and program design
  • Support fundraising readiness and donor relationship building
  • Provide expertise and guidance in your area of experience
